Featuring Dan Schatzeder with the Detroit Tigers, this Dan Schatzeder autographed 1982 Topps #691 Detroit Tigers card represents the left-handed pitcher during his first stint with Detroit. Schatzeder developed into a versatile Major League pitcher capable of contributing both as a starter and out of the bullpen during a career that lasted 15 seasons.

Schatzeder began his Major League career with the Montreal Expos in 1977 and moved into their starting rotation the following season. In 1979, he enjoyed one of his strongest years as a starter, going 10-5 with a 2.83 ERA in 23 appearances, including 21 starts.

Montreal traded Schatzeder to the Detroit Tigers following the 1979 season. He made 25 starts and worked 160 innings for Detroit in 1980 before splitting the 1981 season between starting and relief assignments. The 1982 Topps #691 captures Schatzeder near the conclusion of this first Tigers tenure.

Schatzeder eventually returned to Detroit during the memorable 1984 season, making 24 appearances for a Tigers team that won 104 games and captured the World Series championship. He appeared in both the ALCS against Kansas City and the World Series against San Diego.

Over 15 Major League seasons, Schatzeder appeared in 504 games, filling both starting and relief roles during a career that extended through 1991. The 1982 Topps #691 is an appealing addition for Tigers collectors, Dan Schatzeder fans, 1984 World Series championship collections, vintage Topps collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
