Chris Hammond Autographed 1997 Fleer Ultra #479 Boston Red Sox Card
Add a Boston Red Sox issue from Chris Hammonds extensive Major League career with this Chris Hammond autographed 1997 Fleer Ultra #479 card. Featuring Hammond in a Red Sox uniform, the card represents his lone season in Boston and offers a different team issue for collectors building a comprehensive Hammond autograph collection.
After spending the previous four seasons with the Florida Marlins, Hammond joined Boston for the 1997 campaign. The left-hander appeared in 29 games for the Red Sox, making eight starts while also working out of the bullpen. He finished the season with a 3-4 record and one save across 65.1 innings. One of his strongest stretches came from April 24 through May 5, when he posted a 1.42 ERA over three starts.
The 1997 Fleer Ultra #479 is Hammonds base-set card from the release and identifies him with the Boston Red Sox. His brief Boston tenure makes Red Sox cards a distinctive part of a career that would eventually span 14 Major League seasons and include a remarkable return to prominence as one of baseballs most effective relievers with Atlanta in 2002.
This signed card is an excellent addition for Boston Red Sox collectors, Fleer Ultra set collectors, Chris Hammond fans or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
