Hammond went 7-2 with a 0.95 ERA in 63 appearances, surrendering only seven earned runs over 76 innings.

His resurgence extended his career through the 2006 season. Hammond ultimately appeared for seven Major League organizations, with his career stretching across portions of three different decades.
