Featuring former Major League pitcher, Seattle Mariners no-hit history maker and 2016 World Series championship pitching coach Chris Bosio, this Chris Bosio autographed 1987 Donruss The Rookies #20 Milwaukee Brewers card highlights the talented right-hander during the early stages of his Major League career and represents one of Donruss' popular rookie-focused baseball card releases.

Born on April 3, 1963, in Carmichael, California, Bosio began his professional baseball career after being selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the second round of the 1982 Major League Baseball Draft out of Sacramento City College.

Bosio progressed through Milwaukee's minor league system, developing the command, pitch selection and competitive approach that would eventually make him an effective Major League starting pitcher.

During the 1986 season, Bosio pitched for the Triple-A Vancouver Canadians of the Pacific Coast League before earning his first opportunity with Milwaukee.

He made his Major League debut on August 3, 1986, beginning an 11-season career that would include significant accomplishments with both the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners.

The 1987 Donruss The Rookies #20 features Bosio in his Milwaukee Brewers uniform and represents an early Major League card from the period when he was establishing himself as a promising young pitcher.

Donruss introduced its The Rookies series in 1986 as a supplemental baseball card release devoted to emerging Major League players. The 1987 edition continued that tradition, giving collectors additional cards of young players who were beginning to make their mark in professional baseball.

The 1987 Donruss The Rookies set is recognized for its distinctive design and its emphasis on players who had recently reached the Major Leagues, making it a popular specialty release among collectors of 1980s baseball cards.

Bosio's inclusion reflects his emergence from Milwaukee's farm system and his transition into the Brewers' Major League pitching staff.

The 1987 Milwaukee Brewers enjoyed one of the most remarkable starts in franchise history, opening the season with 13 consecutive victories. The winning streak included Juan Nieves' historic no-hitter against the Baltimore Orioles on April 15, 1987.

Bosio was part of Milwaukee's developing pitching staff during this memorable period, gaining valuable experience as he worked toward becoming a regular Major League starter.

Over the next several seasons, Bosio established himself as a dependable member of the Brewers' rotation, relying on pitch location, changing speeds and an effective approach against American League hitters.

He enjoyed one of his finest seasons in 1989, recording 15 victories for Milwaukee and demonstrating his ability to handle a full season of Major League starting assignments.

Bosio remained with the Brewers through the 1992 season before joining the Seattle Mariners, where he would achieve the defining accomplishment of his playing career.

On April 22, 1993, Bosio threw a no-hitter against the Boston Red Sox, leading Seattle to a 7-0 victory at the Kingdome.

After walking Boston's first two batters, Bosio retired the next 27 hitters in succession, completing one of the most remarkable no-hit performances in Major League Baseball history.

The achievement made Bosio the second pitcher in Seattle Mariners history to throw a no-hitter, following Randy Johnson's perfect game against the Detroit Tigers in 1990.

Bosio continued pitching for Seattle through the 1996 season, completing his 11-year Major League career with 94 victories and 1,059 strikeouts.

Following his playing career, Bosio remained involved in professional baseball as a pitching coach. He later served as pitching coach for the Chicago Cubs during their historic 2016 World Series championship season, helping the franchise capture its first championship since 1908.

The 1987 Donruss The Rookies #20 is an appealing addition for Chris Bosio fans, Milwaukee Brewers collectors, Seattle Mariners no-hitter memorabilia enthusiasts, Donruss The Rookies set collectors, 1980s rookie-era autograph collections, 2016 Chicago Cubs championship memorabilia enthusiasts or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
