Add a distinctive stadium-giveaway issue honoring one of the most popular managers in modern Philadelphia Phillies history with this 2017 Topps National Baseball Card Day Philadelphia Phillies #17 Charlie Manuel card, personally autographed by the manager who guided Philadelphia to the 2008 World Series championship.

This card was part of a special 20-card Phillies National Baseball Card Day stadium set distributed at Citizens Bank Park on August 13, 2017, during the Phillies' annual Alumni Weekend. While most clubs received 10-card stadium sets, Philadelphia's checklist was expanded to 20 cards and focused heavily on franchise greats from different eras.

The Phillies set is especially interesting because the cards carry both the Phillies Alumni Weekend logo and Toyota sponsor logo, distinguishing them from the regular National Baseball Card Day cards distributed through hobby shops. Manuel is correctly cataloged as card #17 in the Phillies set.

It is also an impressive Phillies checklist. Manuel appears alongside franchise legends and fan favorites including Robin Roberts, Richie Ashburn, Jim Bunning, Steve Carlton, John Kruk, Mike Schmidt, Larry Bowa, Dick Allen, Greg Luzinski, Tug McGraw, Darren Daulton, Jim Thome and Garry Maddox.

Manuel certainly earned his place among that group. He managed Philadelphia from 2005 into the 2013 season, overseeing one of the greatest stretches in franchise history. His Phillies won five consecutive National League East championships from 2007 through 2011, captured back-to-back National League pennants in 2008 and 2009, and defeated Tampa Bay in the 2008 World Series for Philadelphia's second championship.

Manuel finished his Phillies managerial career with 780 regular-season victories, making him the winningest manager in franchise history at the time. His easygoing personality and connection with his players also helped make Charlie one of the most beloved figures from Philadelphia's championship era.

Because it was a stadium giveaway rather than a standard pack-issued Topps card, the 2017 National Baseball Card Day #17 provides an interesting alternative to Manuel's mainstream Topps issues and is particularly well suited for an autograph collection.
