From 1972 through 1976, he averaged nearly 20 home runs and 60 stolen bases per season, becoming one of the first players to consistently combine elite power with game-changing speed. His exceptional defense in center field earned him five consecutive Gold Gloves (19721976), and he remains one of the greatest players in Astros franchise history.
