Bruce Fields Autographed 1990 CMC Tacoma Tigers Card #14

Add another excellent minor league issue to a comprehensive Bruce Fields collection with this 1990 CMC Tacoma Tigers #14 card, personally autographed by the former Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners outfielder.

This is a distinct Bruce Fields card from the 1990 CMC Tacoma Tigers team set, correctly cataloged as card #14. Fields also appears as #591 in the larger 1990 CMC set, giving collectors two different CMC issues of Fields from his season with Tacoma.

The card captures Fields during his first season in the Oakland Athletics organization. The Tacoma Tigers were Oakland's Triple-A Pacific Coast League affiliate, finishing the 1990 season with a 75-67 record under manager Brad Fischer. The roster included numerous past and future Major Leaguers, including Mike Bordick, Scott Brosius, Darren Lewis, Dave Veres, Lance Blankenship and Fields.

Fields remained a productive Triple-A hitter after his final Major League appearances with Seattle in 1989. In 87 games for Tacoma, he batted .280 with a .350 on-base percentage, collecting 94 hits in 336 at-bats. His totals included 18 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 34 RBI, 46 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

The Tacoma card also continues an impressive run of minor league issues documenting Fields' career. He had previously starred for Nashville, hitting .368 in 1986, and later produced a .351 season for Calgary in 1989 before joining Tacoma for 1990.

For the dedicated Fields collector, having both the 1990 CMC #591 and this CMC Tacoma Tigers #14 is particularly appealing. Although both represent the same season and team, they are separately cataloged cards and belong in a complete Bruce Fields autograph run.
