Own an autographed 1980 Topps Burger King #9 baseball card personally signed by Bake McBride, featuring the speedy outfielder with the Philadelphia Phillies. This distinctive Burger King promotional issue comes from the Phillies' memorable 1980 World Series championship season, making it an especially appealing card for collectors of the franchise's first championship team.

The 1980 Topps Burger King Philadelphia Phillies set was a special regional promotional release produced by Topps and distributed through participating Burger King restaurants. Featuring Phillies players in a design closely related to the regular 1980 Topps set, these food-issue cards provide collectors with alternative versions of players from one of the most important seasons in Philadelphia baseball history. Card #9 features Bake McBride.

McBride was already an established Major League star by the time he joined Philadelphia. With the St. Louis Cardinals, he captured the 1974 National League Rookie of the Year Award, batting .309 and establishing himself as an exciting combination of speed and hitting ability. He was named a National League All-Star in 1976.

Acquired by Philadelphia during the 1977 season, McBride became an important part of a Phillies club that won three division titles during his tenure. His finest season in Philadelphia came in 1980, when he batted .309 with 33 doubles, 10 triples, 9 home runs, 87 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases. His 87 RBIs established a career high and helped Philadelphia capture the NL East.

McBride continued to contribute during the postseason as the Phillies advanced to face the Kansas City Royals in the 1980 World Series. In Game 1, he delivered one of the key hits of the series, launching a three-run home run as Philadelphia rallied from an early deficit to win 7-6. The Phillies ultimately defeated Kansas City in six games to capture the first World Series championship in franchise history.

Over an 11-year Major League career, McBride compiled 1,153 hits, a .299 batting average, and 183 stolen bases. His accomplishments included the 1974 NL Rookie of the Year Award, a 1976 All-Star selection, and an important role on Philadelphia's historic 1980 championship club.

Personally signed by Bake McBride, this 1980 Topps Burger King #9 combines his autograph with an appealing regional food issue from the Phillies' first World Series championship season.
